| Dadalama ::: Favorites 2008-01-16 02:56:24 disagreeing is good. challenges help us grow. YT is weird with comments sorry if some things sound like I start in the middle. __________________________________________________ | |
| Dadalama ::: Favorites 2008-01-15 00:00:56 everything would still be happening. Though one of the major problems regarding the things I think would work (a large confederacy of city states that are allowed to run their own plot the way they want (or not at all) with a skeletal government to provide weapons to the people and a base protection from power grabs). Is that it would be terribly hard to get the skeletal government to cooperate without the incentive of power. Or keep them from starting a coup. __________________________________________________ | |
| pyrrho314 ::: Favorites 2008-01-14 18:16:09 further, why is war better than starvation as a way to address this "problem"... both sound bad to me, but forced to choose, I'd rather people that can create food for themselves to survive rather than just whomever as the biggest gun. The latter can only steal food and can't survive without the former. __________________________________________________ | |
| pyrrho314 ::: Favorites 2008-01-14 18:15:00 I disagree with you but do share the type of philosophy that supports this sort of thinking... perhaps we need war, perhaps that's a hard truth, we should just face it. I'll try to reply and explore this... but consider... perhaps the people of the past needed war, but we don't/won't. __________________________________________________ | |
| Dadalama ::: Favorites 2008-01-13 18:43:56 a few more things I couldn't remember in this video. In a situation where wars happen often (but at a far smaller scale) we would be more practical with our killing methods. Meaning we'd be making better, easier to use, and lighter firearms. We'd be making small scale bombs to blow buildings up. We wouldn't be making nukes. The one thing I fear is that we need to use the nukes up before abandoning them. They do become unstable over time. __________________________________________________ | |
