Description: the full text can be found here: http://assembly.coe.int/Main.asp?link=/Documents/AdoptedText/ta07/ERES1580.htm resolution 1480, 2007, provisional edition. you can read along, i skipped some parts to keep the video short, but even the sections i didnt read in the video are very interesting. thanks to rkzenrage for sending me the link, check out his profile! http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=rkzenrage UPDATE: ftom2006 added some important information... i obviously got something confused, because i remembered resolutions to be binding. quote: ``Note that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is NOT an institution of the European Union (EU). Both entities are easy to confuse, they even share the same flag. Council members include the states of the EU and states like Russia, Albania, Turkey. The Council is essentially a forum for the debate of questions relating to culture, education, fundamental freedoms and - especially - human rights. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is not a law-giving organ, contrary to the European Parliament (which is a part of the EU legislative). The discussed paper is not a binding law of the EU but a non-binding resolution to raise awareness of a phenomenon of renewed religious fundamentalism. No problem solved but raised awareness may now contribute to solve this problem. ´´ thanks for clearing that up. |

| kurtilein3 ::: Favorites 2008-01-03 11:29:28 the united states have a great scientific community, many brilliant people, its just that the average population just isnt interested in reality, or they just dont understand what science is and how it works. i think more US scientists need to realize that informing the public about science and opposing religious beliefs is really important at the moment. in times like this, scientists need to get involved in discussions about religion/education/politics. __________________________________________________ | |
| 15963256 ::: Favorites 2008-01-02 15:12:30 creationism made in america, for america. so keep it .we dont need that :) __________________________________________________ | |
| DNAunion ::: Favorites 2008-01-02 12:50:17 I have an idea. How about all US scientists move to Europe? Leave the ignorant, anti-science Creationists here in the US to drown in their own stupidity. They can praise God for creating false evidences throughout nature -- to each other -- all they want, taking the US back to the 1700s or Dark Ages. __________________________________________________ | |
| tool69tool69 ::: Favorites 2007-12-26 10:18:55 im moving to the EU __________________________________________________ | |
| kurtilein3 ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 13:59:18 well, i actually have misinterpreted it a bit... resolutions from the european parliament arent binding, the european comission is more important, but its still a step into the right direction :) yes, we have problems, but they are on a different scale compared to other parts of the world. __________________________________________________ | |
| rikmeter ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 10:12:38 It's stuff like this that actually makes me proud to be a European :) Sure Europe has it's own share of problems, but to me this is a sign that Europe treasures it educational system and that it will protect it from undesirable influences. __________________________________________________ | |
| Brainmold ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 14:26:16 Satan is a phony too, but thanks for the blessing. __________________________________________________ | |
| WeaponGuy ::: Favorites 2007-12-21 11:59:34 Actually, government attacking false religion is foretold in Revelation. Also, the Bible explains that the VAST (read this as every psycho Bible-holding maniac or idiot) majority of those claiming to follow it (the Bible) will be false, thus making easy straw man targets for anti-Bible action. The VERY few true followers of the Bible will be also be caught up in the fray. This action will lead to Armageddon. I hardly feel Bible prophesy unfolding makes God look silly, as you're trying to assert. __________________________________________________ | |
| thewinkles ::: Favorites 2007-12-19 15:29:13 The wonderful thing about the faith is why you people are trying so hard to disprove religion, I can enjoy my own life and how wonderful life is, all I can say is: The LORD bless you and keep you, the LORD make his face shine apon you and be gracious to you, the LORD look apon you and you satanistic ways and give you peace. Amen __________________________________________________ | |
| kurtilein3 ::: Favorites 2007-12-12 13:47:48 we are getting rid of a special kind of ignorance/stupidity. this is why i am smiling. is intelligent design a religion for you? well, for me it doesnt matter, i think all religious faith is toxic to society, no matter if its islam or hinduism or christianity, if you want to include intelligent design to the minor and more destructive religions like scientology and jehovas witnesses, why not, im okay with that. __________________________________________________ | |
| es7160 ::: Favorites 2007-12-12 08:30:27 why are you smiling? You are losing your freedom of speech and freedom of religion. __________________________________________________ | |
| kurtilein3 ::: Favorites 2007-12-06 17:57:28 religious people would respond with some babblings about free will ^^ __________________________________________________ | |
| Brainmold ::: Favorites 2007-12-06 17:16:32 God gets powned by Europe and doesn't even do anything. If there was a God surely Creationism would be acccepted. God can do anything right? LOL powned. __________________________________________________ | |
| deBeuk ::: Favorites 2007-11-19 10:31:28 "I officialy <3 the EU! Go europe!" Hey, we have our own problems of course, I think we can all learn from each other. I personally am jealous of the US constitution for instance ;) __________________________________________________ | |
| studio7manga ::: Favorites 2007-11-15 11:33:34 Awesome gratitude to the E.U. I just wish we could get such a document created in the States. __________________________________________________ | |
