Our reasoning will fail us. Everything in our flesh will fail us. We must turn to the spirit portion of our being and embrace it, for in so doing we will seek God for God is spirit. If you pray for others, you either believe God is not all-knowing, or that God changes his mind about what he knows already. ie: praying for anything other than worship proves you don't believe in an all-knowing and unchanging God. __________________________________________________

God allows babies to die, and yet it is right. God allows wars to be raged, and yet it is right. We don't see with big enough eyes to have any sort of handle on what is truly going on. You're 100% right, our intelligence isn't enough, we make mistakes, we do test bias, we assume conclusions and so forth, and *that's why we have the scientific method*, to *prevent* us from doing those extremely common mistakes. Contrast that with religion, where it's heroic to believe despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. __________________________________________________

I'm telling you there is a component to our existence which defies our flesh-based understanding, and it is that component which is the real truth, not that which we can "see" and "test" and "experience". You cannot reason your way to salvation. It comes by an act of God, one approached through faith wrapped in repentence. We recognize that we do not have it right, and that God does. If we listen to our spirit, then we act in faith because we cannot touch the spirit. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. There were two trees in the midst of the garden, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the tree of death). We are not alive right now, unless we are born of the spirit. You can use lots and lots of words and examples, and they can think they have an idea. But until they become parents themselves they will never know what was being discussed. It's the same with being born of the spirit. A reasoning mind only operates in this world. A spiritual discernment accesses God's truth. __________________________________________________
