Description: Sorry to leave you hanging for so long, folks. I've come down with a cold (yes, again!) so instead of a video review, I'm going to have to give you something that doesn't require me to aggravate my sore throat. This is the opening to Tales of Innocence, the action-RPG recently released in Japan for the Nintendo DS. You may already have seen videos of this game on YouTube, but they've been uniformly terrible; generally just some guy holding a shaky camcorder over a DS. I've used a combination of karate and jujitsu to capture this footage... it's not perfect, but it's better than what you'll probably find elsewhere. I'm a little stunned that a handheld game system like the DS can handle full-motion video this good. I'm also bewildered by the music, which sounds like Gregorian Chant in a long-dead language. It reminds me a little of the Panzer Dragoon series, with its own puzzling dialect. |

| ScrewAttackEurope ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 18:02:33 It is quite impressive, most DS games only weigh in at about 60-80MB as well, so they're tiny compared to PSP games Etc. But I did hear that Capcom are converting the Resident Evil PS1 games to the DS and they'll have all the original FMV included too. I guess as the screen is so small, they don't need a very high res, so they could cram it in as a WMV or a FLV(Flash) file. __________________________________________________ | |
| BluntmanEXE ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 18:35:35 Actually, from what I've heard, A DS card can hold about 1gb. But I'm not surprised to see FMV this sweet on a DS. If you've ever played Megaman ZX or either of the Castlevania games, then you know that the DS is more than capable of handling good-quality FMV. __________________________________________________ | |
| ScrewAttackEurope ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 18:54:26 I'd think that could be true, considering they're SD based and how cheap it is to manufacturer 1gb cards now. __________________________________________________ | |
| Ephraim225 ::: Favorites 2007-12-07 20:09:16 Shows how advanced technology is. In fact, a GBA could do FMV. (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Good quality, too. Even has a quality recording of the theme song.) I've never played any Tales of- games...maybe I should try one... __________________________________________________ | |
